These storage heaters save you money by using electricity at an off-peak rate through the night. The heat is then stored, ready to be used when you want it to be. This can be programmed for certain times, temperatures or manually controlled by you.
Not only does it cost you less to power these heaters, they also operate more efficiently than older models, helping you to heat your home more effectively for less. These electric storage heaters could provide you with a 30% reduction in your heating costs.
Free grants are available to cover the cost of replacing electric room heating or to offer a replacement and upgrade to aged and inefficient electric storage heaters.
To qualify for a grant, you must reside at a domestic premise as either a homeowner or private tenant (council and housing association accommodation does not unfortunately qualify). The property must be heated by electric or have no heating present. Qualifying benefits are detailed within the application.
